Six black and white full-page illustrations by C.D. Williams. Blue cloth with Margaret Armstrong decorative binding design stamped in white, green, and red. Some wear to corners and spine ends. White lettering on spine rubbed. Previous owner signature and date (1/1/14) in pencil on front free end paper. Better than Very Good.

Set in rural Indiana and Chicago, the novel follows the fortunes of Jud Sherrod, a rustic youth whose artistic talents take him to the city, where he embarks on a fast-track career as a newspaper illustrator and painter.
