One of White’s masterpieces, or as he called it “a hymn to the barn” and a “story of friendship, life, death, salvation.” Charlotte’s Web has so many embedded themes and emotions. It’s funny, serious, profound, celebratory, and “one of the very few books for young children that face, squarely, the subject of death.” (Silvey, p. 467).
