Consists of two loose introductory sheets; the title/limitation page and a page describing each photograph. These are accompanied by 11 black-and-white photographs of poets and artists, three signed, most from the Bay Area. All contents housed in a red leatherette drop-back box, with gilt lettering. Limited edition of 30 copies, this being No. 26. All pieces in Fine condition. Scarce. No copies located in OCLC or available in the trade.
These original photographs were all taken by Soheyl Dahi, artist, poet, and founder of Sore Dove Press. This is Dahi’s second release of original photographs and includes images of Lawrence Ferlinghetti (signed), Allen Ginsberg, Jack Hirschman (signed), Leonard Cohen, Diane di Prima, Jack Hirschman with an ailing Diane di Prima (signed by Hirschman), Lenore Kandel, David Meltzer, Joanne Kyger, Gary Snyder, and ruth weiss.
A beautiful compilation of figures of the Beat Generation. The photograph of di Prima and Hirschman is particularly stunning, as it captures the deep love, respect, and admiration that these two literary giants had for each other.
