A few spots of soiling to boards. Spine ends and corners lightly bumped. Missing front flyleaf. Small ink stains to front endpapers. Light offsetting near gutter at several gatherings. Frontispiece with tissue guard intact. Better than Very Good.
In this book, the author attempts to “reproduce some of the effects of city scenes and character upon the intellect and imagination of two people from the country.” The result is a collection of ballads related to several purported aspects of city life, including wealth, want, vice, and virtue.
